Deploy Your Wireless Network

Complete these essential tasks to set up your organization and sites, ensure security, install your devices, and start configuring your network.

Prerequisites	Before you can configure your wireless network or onboard your devices, you need to complete these tasks in the Juniper Mist™ portal: Create your organization. Set up at least one site, and activate your subscriptions. Configure your firewall to allow outbound Juniper Mist traffic. Recommended, but not required before you can configure your wireless network: Add user accounts for other personnel who are working with you to deploy Juniper Mist. You can even enable limited access for the personnel who are installing devices. Set up other security options as needed. WLAN Setup	Set up your WLAN templates and WLANs. Configure settings such as security, radio frequency, rate limits, QoS, and more. For all deployments, we recommend using WLAN templates. Templates streamline your tasks and ensure consistency. Future operations are made easier, because you can quickly update your template, while Juniper Mist applies the changes across all associated sites. RF Templates and Device Profiles	If you have multiple sites and device types, you can use RF templates and device profiles to streamline configuration and deployment. By doing so, you ensure consistent settings across sites. As with WLAN templates, Juniper Mist applies any changes across all associated sites and devices.	RRM Configuration Options
Auto-Provisioning	For large deployments, consider enabling auto-provisioning. Juniper Mist can automatically assign device profiles, names, and sites to your APs as you onboard them.	Auto-Provision Device Names, Sites, and Device Profiles

Important:

Before you can claim a previously claimed (onboarded) AP into a new organization or cloud instance, it must be released from its current organization or cloud. Otherwise, the claim process returns an "Invalid Code" error.

If this error occurs, contact Mist Onboarding Support to reset the device's cloud environment. Ownership validation is required before the reset can be performed.

Once the device is released, you can proceed with the claiming process as appropriate.
