About the Container LSP Tab
To access Container LSP tab, click Observability > Network > Topology > Container LSP.
A container LSP is a logical grouping of sub-LSPs that share the properties defined in the container LSP. Routing Director dynamically adds (splits) or removes (merges) sub-LSPs based on real-time network conditions, preventing over-reservation or under-utilization of resources.
On this tab, you can view the list of Container LSPs in your network. You can also create, delete, and download container LSP related data and view sub-LSPs associated with the selected container LSP.
Tasks You Can Perform
-
Create a container LSP—Click the + icon to create a container LSP, which defines the properties of sub-LSPs.
For more information on creating a container LSP is, see Add a Container LSP.
-
View sub-LSPs—Select a container LSP on the table and click View > Sub LSPs. The Container Sub LSPs page appears and lists all sub‑LSPs associated with the selected container LSP. These sub-LSPs are dynamically added (split) or removed (merged) by Routing Director, based on real-time network conditions. When you select a sub-LSP, its path will be highlighted in the Topology map.
-
Delete a container LSP—Select the container LSP you want to remove and click the Delete (trash bin) icon. Click Yes to confirm the delete operation. The selected container LSP and it's associated subLSPs are removed from the ingress device and Routing Director
-
Download—Click Download to download container LSP-related data to your local system. The data is downloaded to your local system as a comma-separated values (CSV) file.
-
View details of a container LSP—Select a container LSP on the table and click More > Show Details to view the details of a container LSP.
-
To perform common actions such as filtering using advanced filter criteria and resetting preferences, see Network Table Overview.
| Fields | Description |
|---|---|
|
Name |
Displays the name of the container LSP. |
|
Device A |
Displays the source of the container. This field identifies the ingress device of the sub‑LSPs associated with the container. |
|
Device Z |
Displays the destination of the container. This field identifies the egress device of the sub‑LSPs associated with the container. |
|
IP A |
Displays the IPv4 address of the ingress device of the container. |
|
IP Z |
Displays the IPv4 address of egress device of the container. |
|
Merging Bandwidth |
Displays the bandwidth threshold for removing sub-LSPs during container normalization. The valid units are B or b (bps), M or m (Mbps). K or k (Kbps), or G or g (Gbps). If you specify a value without units, bps is automatically applied. |
|
Splitting Bandwidth |
Displays the bandwidth threshold for creating additional sub-LSPs during container normalization. The valid units are B or b (bps), M or m (Mbps). K or k (Kbps), or G or g (Gbps). If you specify a value without units, bps is automatically applied. |
|
Minimum LSP Count |
Displays the minimum number of sub-LSPs that should always exist. |
| Maximum LSP Count |
Displays the maximum number of sub-LSPs that can exist. |
| Minimum LSP Bandwidth |
Displays the minimum bandwidth that each sub-LSP of this container can be assigned during container normalization or when the container was initially created. The valid units are B or b (bps), M or m (Mbps). K or k (Kbps), or G or g (Gbps). If you specify a value without units, bps is automatically applied. |
| Maximum LSP Bandwidth |
Displays the maximum bandwidth that each sub-LSP of this container can be assigned during container normalization . The valid units are B or b (bps), M or m (Mbps). K or k (Kbps), or G or g (Gbps). If you specify a value without units, bps is automatically applied. |
