New Features

This section describes the new features released in Juniper Routing Assurance.

Detect Traffic Drops with Marvis

Use Marvis to proactively identify sustained packet-loss conditions across routers and address issues before drops impact services. Packet drops can result from forwarding exceptions, hardware limitations, software defects, or configuration issues, making manual troubleshooting complex and time-consuming.

Marvis continuously analyzes router telemetry to detect packet-loss conditions, identify transient and persistent drops, and generate actionable insights. Each traffic drop event includes details such as impacted routers, packet loss statistics, associated counters, and relevant context to accelerate root cause analysis. Continuous monitoring of forwarding behavior helps improve network reliability, minimize service disruptions, and enhance the overall user experience.

Enhanced BGP Route Inspection Tools

The Show BGP Received Routes and Show BGP Advertised Routes utilities have been enhanced to simplify BGP route inspection and troubleshooting. You can select a BGP neighbor from a dynamically populated Neighbor drop-down list instead of manually entering the neighbor IP address. Use the optional Destination filter to search for specific route prefixes and limit displayed results.

These enhancements improve usability and operational efficiency, enabling you to quickly locate and validate routes, reduce input errors, and troubleshoot route advertisement and reception issues effectively.
