Authentication Methods in FIPS Mode of Operation

The Juniper Networks Junos operating system (Junos OS) running in FIPS mode of operation allows a wide range of capabilities for users, and authentication is identity-based.

Prior to authentication, the only Junos OS managed responses provided to the administrator are:

• Display of the access banner

• ICMP echo responses (for remote management terminals).
