MAC Processor

The MAC Monitor processor collects MAC address tables for all Leafs and Access-switches and compares to automatically generated expectations, derived from the Virtual Network intent.

The processor has two output stages:

  • MAC Address Table: Dump of the system’s MAC address table and reports for every MAC entry:

    • Interface name from which it has been learned

    • VLAN ID, VNI and Virtual Network label

    • Status, indicating if the entry is missing or not

    • This stage does not support streaming

  • Missing MAC Counts: Provides on a per System per VNI basis the count of MAC entries missing according to the Virtual Network intent.


Data transformation workflow: Input MAC is transformed to output fields mac set to Mac and missing set to Missing.
