QFX5241-32OD Power System

AC PSU—Two redundant AC power supply units (PSUs) power the AC variant of QFX5241-32OD switch (with 1 + 1 redundancy). The AC PSU in QFX5241-32OD switch has the following power supply options:

The PSUs are fully redundant (except for the input voltage range of 100–127 V in the QFX5241-1U-PWR-AO AC PSUs) and perform load sharing after you install and power on the second PSU. The AC PSUs are hot-removable and hot-insertable FRUs. That is, you can remove and replace the PSUs without powering off the switch or disrupting the functioning of the switch.

The PSU modules support AFO cooling, also known as front-to-back or ports-to FRUs airflow. The typical power consumption of the QFX5241-32OD switch is 543 W and the maximum power consumption is 1394 W.

QFX5241-1U-PWR-DO—Two redundant DC power supply units (PSUs) power the DC-with-ORv3 variant of QFX5241-32OD switch (with 1 + 1 redundancy). Each QFX5241-1U-PWR-DO PSU provides a maximum output of 2400 W. The DC PSU consumes a maximum input power of 2600 W from the power outlet to produce the maximum output of 2400 W. The PSU modules support AFO cooling, also known as front-to-back or ports-to FRUs airflow. The PSUs are fully redundant and perform load sharing after you install and power on the second PSU. The DC PSUs are hot-removable and hot-insertable FRUs. That is, you can remove and replace the PSUs without powering off the switch or disrupting the functioning of the switch.

The typical power consumption of the QFX5241-32OD DC switch is 537 W and the maximum power consumption is 1381 W.

The PSUs of the QFX5241-32OD switch are located in the FRU panel at the rear of the chassis.

System Electrical Ratings for QFX5241-32OD Switch

Apart from the individual AC PSU and DC PSU electrical ratings, the QFX5241-32OD switch models are validated for a specific set of electrical ratings. The models of the QFX5241-32OD switch are rated as follows:

QFX5241-32OD-AO—The QFX5241-32OD AC model is rated for an input current of 15 A within an input voltage range of 200 through 240 volts AC (VAC) and for an input current of 12 A within an input voltage range of 100 volts through 127 volts AC (VAC) for each power supply operating within an AC input line frequency of 50 Hz through 60 Hz.

QFX5241-32OD-DO-T1—The QFX5241-32OD-T1 DC-with-ORv3 model is rated for an input current of 70 A within an input voltage range of -48 volts DC (VDC) through -60 VDC for each power supply.

QFX5241-32OD AC Power Supply Unit Description

QFX5241-1U-PWR-AO—Each 2400-W AC PSU has a single AC input that provides 12 V of output voltage. The maximum output power of the PSU is 2400 W for the input voltage range of 200 V through 240 V and 1000 W for the input voltage of 100 V through 127 V. At maximum load, the AC input current rating is 12 A for an input voltage of 100 V and 15 A for an input voltage of 220 V.

Note:

At the output power and input voltages provided, you can maintain the input current of the switch within the rated limits.

AC Power Cord Specifications

We ship detachable AC power cords with the chassis. The AC power cord CG_CBL-SDG-C20-2M ships by default along with the QFX5241-32OD AC switches.

Note:

In North America, AC power cords must not exceed 14.75 feet (approximately 4.5 meters) in length, to comply with National Electrical Code (NEC) Sections 400-8 (NFPA 75, 5-2.2) and 210-52, and Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) Section 4-010(3). The cords that can be ordered for the QFX Series switches are in compliance.

QFX5241-32OD AC Power Supply Unit LED

Each QFX5241-32OD switch PSU has a single LED on the module faceplate to indicate the power status.

QFX5241-32OD DC Power Supply Unit Description

Each 2400-W DC PSU has a single DC input that provides 12 V of output voltage. The maximum output power of the PSU is 2400 W. Maximum DC input current rating is 70 A.

Note:

Under the specified voltage and current conditions, the switch operates within its rated limits.
